MB Mini at the Markets We took the Mini with us on an outing to a local outdoor markets. It is held at a showground, with some sealed roads, but mostly uneven rocky or sand surfaces.
One of our contributors of past Sophia (NY) checks in and shares with us her latest family adventure going to Disney World with her trusty and nimble Mountain Buggy swift! Read how it all went, plus check out the gorgeous images throughout! We miss you Sophia! MBx
We recently took the Mountain Buggy Mini for a day trip around Sydney CBD. I've been lucky enough to have the MB Mini on trial for 3 weeks now and its name says it all. This buggy is everything you would expect from a Mountain Buggy (sturdy, robust, well-made) but in a small, compact and lightweight version. As soon as I received my Mountain Buggy Mini, I dove into the box (not literally) to check it out. Through rain and snow and bitter cold, my friend and I have done our twice weekly stroller walks for several months, almost without fail. There is a paved trail near my house and when you do the roundtrip, it is about 5 miles. I like that the trail has mile markers so I know how far we've gone, although I rarely look at them because my workout partner and I are solving the problems of the world instead. Activity and adult conversation, talk about time well spent for stay-at-home parents! We both have older kids in school so we meet after school drop off for our walks. How much easier it is to stay consistent when you have a workout partner depending on you! I know I would have bailed on those rainy days if it weren't for her! My other workout partners are my dog, Roxxy, and my baby, Lila. Somehow Roxxy knows when it is a walking day and she shakes with excitement from when we wake up until we hit the trail. I am able to push the stroller and walk the dog simultaneously, very easily. Lila almost always takes her morning nap in the terrain. I use the rain cover to keep the wind and rain off of her and she just sleeps and enjoys the ride. We are hoping to work up to running, but for now we are just happy to be walking. It feels great to move, especially in winter. What is great is that once you build it into your routine, it is easier to branch out and try other things. I just took a Pilates class yesterday and got in touch with my abs for the first time in 2 years. I did Pilates years ago and loved it, but time flies when you are having babies and it has been a while! How are you staying active this winter? Have you made a plan for the year ahead? Decide that this is your year, your year to get out there! Do something you've never done before, have a look online, see what all us mad mummies are getting up to in the field of fitness. I am in love with a buggy! No kidding. I've appreciated buggies before, but never been one to actually have conversations about them. But now it has all changed. I have just had the Mountain Buggy mini for a month, and boy, what a buggy it is! It has compelled me to make strangers have a push so that they too can have a feel at how light and easy it is to push and what wonderful manoeuvrability it has.
2012 is nearly over, work has finished at HQ, and Christmas is fast approaching. And while I am excited about the 2 week holiday coming my way, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic. It’s been an insane year, and when I reflect back to the past 355 days gone by, one tune plays through my mind - a Beatles classic: “I get by with a little help from my friends”. Here I am, top left, hanging with my marketing team at our crazy Christmas party! I write this as a mother of a toddler, with sleep deprivation..... yet still having to continue on and do what needs to be done in the day regarding motherhood, work, and chores...... |
