Baring it all!

Written by Hollie

Well it’s been yet another mad week or so for me. Last Wednesday I spent the day in Manchester for a Daily Mail photo shoot, (Daily Mail is a UK newspaper). This was to do with my most recent shoot and the getting 'me' back! (see blog here)

Anyway here is a run by of the day from my notebook from last Wednesday!

10.55am
Phew I made it! I am currently sitting in a Virgin Train, Manchester bound having just left Milton Keynes! EEEK, excitingly nerve racking! I left home at 9am on the dot and got to the station in 30 minutes, early but it was a good job as the parking was awful! Even by British standards of having nowhere to park, it was pants! By the time I had parked, tickets collected and Costa coffee in hand, it was time to head down to the platform. Being the dipstick that I am, I stood at the opposite end of the platform that I was meant to! So I looked a right plonker running past un-gracefully all the coaches whilst the conductor was blowing on the whistle. I'm sure he did it to panic me, as it was most obvious that I was getting on the train!

Anyway, all well and good! Feels incredibly bizarre being sat here alone with no children hanging off my limbs or a hubby to look out for me! My seat is facing the wrong way and only 5 minutes in I feel travel sick - great! I feel like I am on a roller coaster going backwards! I am in the quiet zone of the train, so I dare not be the naughty one and chat to friends on my phone! I have never eaten granola and yoghurt so carefully. I’ve forgotten the motion of a train, as it’s been a long time since my visits up to London.

I had requested a window seat on the booking, but seem to have been plonked between two, so I can either peer over someone’s shoulder or behind myself and into someone’s face. To save myself from embarrassment, I sit diagonal and watch the world go by out the opposite window. I do however, have the benefit of picking up the free wi-fi so off to check that out!

12.25pm
I'm back... wi-fi is rubbish. I've finished my Company mag and stupidly knotted my new necklace out of boredom thinking it would look good. It doesn't, and now I have a knot in my new necklace. Bummer. Train is however slowing to a stop! EEEK, lets go, go, go!!

13.10pm
Finally, arrived at the FYEO studio and it’s gorgeous. More pink than the one that I went to in High Wycombe, but bloomin’ fab! The wallpaper may be a bright, bright pink but this isn't the cheapy tack, it’s textured and velvety - oooh I love! (Note to self - stop touching the walls).

I attempted to walk here as the first cab driver told me it wasn't far and easy to find, but I think he was too lazy and wanted a longer fare! I got predictably lost, after all I had no map! I eventually hailed a cab who also told me it’s just around the corner, so in desperation I asked him to drop me there! Two corners later here I am - haha! (Note to self - stop touching wallpaper).

Oh, and how cool... I saw my first tram! Love it!

14.00pm-ish
Ok, quick catch up! Can't find the time so hazarding a guess! I have had a ‘before’ picture taken with the Daily Mail’s photographer and just had make up - glammed up, ready to get going! I've had a chat with the journalist and hoping she doesn't make me look to much of a loony in the article! Just having a quick chill with some champagne while my body poses are discussed!

18.00pm
Wow, what a day! Bit of a gap in my updates but it got busy and I got chatty! Shortly after jotting the last note, I was naked! I was OK to do that as only my cheeky backside was on show and even though it was daunting having the Daily Mail journalist and photographer as well as the FYEO photographer, but thankfully we were all women! I think when you have had a man deliver one of your babies, you lose most inhibitions! In fact, I think childbirth does that regardless!
Normally the photo-shoot would start with outfits etc.., but I was pretty relaxed naked (thinking the bubbly helped!). The Daily Mail took pictures of the actual shoot in progress and fired a few questions my way throughout. I had a quick peek at some pics before they were sent off, and I was pretty happy with them! I've no idea what ones (if any) will be used, which is a bit nerve racking!

I hung about a bit and got to meet some of the other girls taking part. We had a group shot and then headed for a wander around the shops!

Didn't get to the Trafford Center as the Arndale was closest - such a cool shopping center with Selfridges too! If only I had more time, oh how I am loving clothes again! So now here I am on the train, heading back home, thankfully sitting facing the right way!

21.00pm
I got home and Matt was cooking dinner, awesome! So today was pretty mad and I'm very nervous about how it will look next Thursday! Mega tired so this is short and sweet! I'm pretty lucky that my original appointment with one of my best mates is next week and I have some firm ideas of what I want. That should be much less mad and more me, rather than aimed at Daily Mail readers, so roll on Tuesday!
