"I love my dad - he is awesome. We like watching trucks and excavators on youtube and we spend our day off together checking out trucks and diggers down at a local work site - it's a boy thing!"

(2yrs, son of Alicia - NZ sales manager)

It’s Father’s Day in New Zealand this Sunday, and we want to celebrate on a global scale!

Gone are the days when men brought home the bacon while women ruled the roost. Nowadays, roles have changed dramatically - dads are out there pushing buggy with one hand, holding a diaper bag in the other and enjoying quality time with their kids at the park. They’re called N.A.D’s aka New Age Dads, and these guys aren’t complaining about their new role - the amount of adoring looks from strangers in the street is enough for any person to give up their day job and become a full time parent.

It’s nice to see though, this dramatic change in society becoming more and more appreciated and accepted by all - young and old, male and female, across cultures too. We’re not just talking about being a full time dad, but we're talking about men having the ability to relax and appreciate their kids on a level that they welcome the midnight wake up calls, the diaper changes and even the dirty laundry. You wouldn’t hear of dad’s doing this back in the day!

For any child knowing their father is there for them on a larger scale brings a whole new level of security, stability and comfort that is irreplaceable (kind of sounds like a Mountain Buggy doesn't it?!). They are our heroes - a pillar of strength who can offer so much assurance, unconditional love and and not to mention good times - after all, don’t they say that women tend to look for a partner that have the same attributes as their dads?

We have a lot of dad’s working in our offices across the globe, and we want to acknowledge these seemingly invincible (and oh so serious) men at work, as we know at home they are just big softies! We reached out to a few people in the team and invited them to send through a dedication to their dad’s, or from a dad’s perspective - what being a parent means to them. See below!

We've also put together some great Father's Day Deals to celebrate fatherhood! Click here to check out deals in your area.

So to all the dads out there around the world, we salute you - Happy Fathers Day!

"I realised recently that my Dad is a bit of a hero to me. He's kind, incredibly generous, clever and he loves me unconditionally. I am lucky to be able to say that, and I am lucky to have the benefit of his experience in my life. He is still the first person that I turn to for any kind of practical advice... 'Dad, how do I unblock the sink... ?' 'Dad, my car is making a funny noise...' 'Dad, there's a massive spider...!' My Dad is a one off, he's unique, and I'm proud to be his daughter.
This picture was taken back in the 1960's when Dad drove his Mintex mobile workshop around the Formula 1 race circuits in Europe, tending the brake pads on all the cars and I think safe to say, having the time of his life!"
Sarah - UK product marketer

Nicola - PR connector

" 'Neil Neil Orange Peel' is the most intelligent man I know. A surgeon, a pilot, a farmer, a builder, a vet, an aeronautical engineer and a father of five. But I'm still better than him at snowboarding!"

Hello Mountain Buggy.
I just happened upon your blog, and thought I just had to comment.

I am a N.A.M.D. (new age Maori dad). I am fortunate enough to have my own business which allows me to look after our two under 5's for three days of the week, while Nana and Papa look after them the other two. Sure business has been effected by this, and I tend to work late in the evenings trying to keep the clients happy, but I feel blessed and humbled to be able to spend time with them while they are this age.

We try to get out every day to ward of the cabin fever and get some exercise by swimming and running around at the local parks and beaches (weather permitting). And I am amazed at the amount of Dads hanging out with their kids. GO DADS!

In this day and age, where everyday items and services are so expensive, It has become harder and harder to get by on just one income. So I feel blessed to be given the chance to spend time and bond with my kids, and help them learn, and in turn they are also teaching me about being a Dad, a role-model and a friend.

Love a Dad x
