17 Weeks Down! (Almost)

23 July 2008
Lisa Jaggi (Toddler)

17 weeks down (well almost…but who’s counting other than me?) and the bean has finally developed into a bump.  Looking back at photos of my ‘Tarn-bump’ to compare sizes, it’s becoming pretty clear that things are destined to be different this time.  This baby seems determined to make it obvious its on board right from the word go!!!  I feel HUGE!  My buddies assure me that I am in fact NOT huge (yet) and that “it is quite normal to stretch into baby mode faster the second time round”.  Somehow I don’t feel that reassured - they don’t know about the chocolate bars and cheese I have been secretly eating like a mad women.

Another difference is that last time I was working a full time job at this point.  I have no idea how I could have coped with out my little afternoon nap (while Tarn is having his) last time.  Come lunch time my eyes are drooping, I’m yawning, and it’s all I can do to stop myself squeezing into Tarn’s cosy cot right beside him.   Again my loyal buddies (who have already gone round two) assure me that the demands of a busy toddler are enough to put an able bodied, non-pregnant person to bed in the afternoon, let alone a genuine pregnant lady!!!

Despite the above, I love being pregnant…I only wish I didn’t have another 23 weeks to wait (or more, if it’s anything like last time)!!!!!
