One of the safest infant car seats now in the market, protect™ holds the newest and highest safety standard in the world (R129); offering rear facing for longer (from 40-87cm); with maximum head, neck and all over body protection, longevity and sublime comfort for your newborn, ensuring convenience in the car as well as on the buggy as a travel system*.
*A travel system is simply putting a buggy and an infant car seat together with an adaptor, allowing you to simply click the car
seat on and off seamlessly, and pop in and out into the car with minimal disturbance to your baby’s rest.
Delivering on Mountain Buggy's world class safety & design reputation, protect™ includes thick EPP foam for maximum impact absorption, and first ever standardised side impact testing. It also comes included with an ISOFIX base that allows you to safely secure into the back seat of your car always; however, if your car does not feature ISOFIX anchor points, rest assured, protect™ has convenient car seatbelt routing guides to secure the car seat in place without the need of the base. And with its ergonomically shaped handle and light weight, protect™ can safely carry your newborn from the hospital gates to your car or buggy with ease.

Being R129, means protect™ is i-Size ready:

i-Size – it's all about the height
Remove ambiguity and confusion with weight and age being the rules around your child's next stage car seat – i-Size allows you to focus solely on child's height to see when you need to adjust OR go the next stage car seat, making for a better and safer fit for your little passenger – always.
i-Size – rear face for longer
There is an adjustable headrest height to easily lengthen the seat for when your baby grows, giving you longer use of protect™ (from 40-87cm - head to toe measurement of your newborn; around 15mths).
i-Size – superior side impact protection
protect™ has gone through the NEWEST & THE MOST stringent side impact and rotational testing to ensure maximum protection in the event of a side collision. The deep side wing panels include energy absorbing foam padded liners and energy absorbing high impact EPP foam (not EPS). EPP while more expensive, is also much more flexible & less brittle than EPS, so it is less likely to crumble or break.
i-Size – security always with ISOFIX
Too many car seats are incorrectly installed. protect™ comes included with an ISOFIX base that also has a support leg, allowing you to fit your infant car seat into your car perfectly all the time, giving you absolute peace of mind that your child is secure and stable for the journey ahead.
note: If your car does not have ISOFIX anchor points, protect™ is safe to using the vehicle seat belt without the ISOFIX base, using the green belt guides on the car seat itself.

A UPF50+ blackout cover is included to shelter baby from light wind or bugs and provide privacy. It blocks 98.74% of the light, so your little one is nicely cocooned in the dark, with an air permeability of 115cfm.
easy to adjust for your growing baby
Adjust your infant car seat with ease as your baby grows taller, with the simultaneous head and harness adjuster – no need to take off the seat fabric to re-thread the harness like other car seats – simply pull and slide up the seat back to extend, and the harness will follow.
